Uncrowded house reefs and vibrant marine life with over 50 dive sites to choose from
El Quseir is a tranquil and an nearly undiscovered Red Sea destination, you certainly wouldn't imagine that it was once one of Egypt's busiest trading ports. It's predominantly a shore diving resort and there are numerous pristine dive sites here, normally accessed by land transport but on some occasions by day boat. If you want to experience lots of varied marine life without lots of of people El Quseir is a fabulous choice - it has some superb house reefs so both snorkelers and divers can easily access the plentiful coral and underwater ecosystem.
LEARNING TO DIVE Although El Quseir is uncrowded and offers some amazing diving with spectacular topography and lots of varied marine life it isn't ideal for beginner divers. A lot of the dive sites cover multi depths and are more suited to more experienced divers but if you want to do your Advanced course or specialities then El Quseir is a great choice. We can arrange for you to do your referral dives here in the UK with our sister company www.idiveteam.com and then you can do your qualifying PADI open water dives with one of our affiliated schools in El Quseir.
QUALIFIED DIVERS With over 50 dive sites all within easy reach of the dive centre including the Rock, Serib Kebir and Sharm Fungani you will be spoilt for choice. There are a multitude of dive sites with lots of coral gardens and pinnacles sitting on sandy slopes for you to explore. As you pass through the coral lined passage ways you can spot a variety of marine life including blue spotted stingrays, sea snakes, lionfish, moray eels, crocodile fish and porcupine fish. If you are lucky you may even spot whitetip and guitar sharks hiding away. It's not a resort that is known for the larger pelagic sightings but the area is well known for a large variety of marine life.
There are a number of superb house reefs giving divers really easy access to some great diving with a good chance of seeing turtles, reef sharks, leopard rays and napoleon wrasse. It's good resort for photographers with an abundance of macro life including nudibranch and Spanish dancers. Although it is mainly a shore diving destination there are plenty of boat day trips to the south to famous dive sites such as Elphinstone Reef, famous for its sharks and the wreck of the Salem Express.
